I've managed to get my hands on the Resident Evil 5 demo, and as I was playing it, I realized that it's missing something. When you get a chance to play it, you'll know what I mean. I guess it all started way back when I first played Resident Evil 4. I loved every part of this game, but is this really a sequel to the Resident Evil series. My older brother loves Resident Evil. I remember way back in the late 90s when I used to watch him play this game, but when I got a chance to play it, it immediately became my favorite game for the Playstation. After Resident Evil 0 my brother has never played another Resident Evil again, and I asked him why, and you know what he said? "There hasn't been another Resident Evil after zero. Right?", and I couldn't agree with him more. When I saw the previews for Resident Evil 4, I right away thought that this was just some game that Capcom made, and decided to name it Resident Evil 4. I wasn't really looking forward to this game, but when I got to play it, I loved it. But then again, this isn't anything like the old Resident Evil games besides the green herbs and the first aid spray, but I didn't really care, cause it was SO good.
When I saw the first trailer to Resident Evil 5, right away I thought this was going to be a great sequel, especially since Chris Redfield's in it, but when I saw the gameplay, I got pissed off. Then when I played the demo, instead of being pissed off, I just got upset. The controls for this game is just horrible for the 360. It took me at least four tries to get used to the controls, and when I mean tries, I really mean gameovers. Call me a noob all you want, but this game is just flat out hard. Not only the controls are hard, the inventory screen got me angry because the game doesn't pause when you're using it, and I understand this since there's online and offline co-op. Everytime I needed to use a herb I had to hide inside a house like a little wuss and then use it, but I can't stay in there for that long since there's a huge dude with an axe chasing me and not to mention the other enemies coming out of nowhere, and there's so many of them. IT'S INSANE! I can't even stop to pick up a green herb, or exchange an object with my partner without one of those people attacking me. I mean for godsakes, leave me in peace for just one second please. What are there problems anyways, Christ. I see why people like this game, and I sort of agree with them since I only played the demo. but we'll just have to wait and see until to the game finally comes out.
What I learned from the Resident Evil 5 demo is that there is never going to be a sequel to this series that will be similar to the old Resident Evil games, but I hope I'm wrong with this.
